How is Sublimation different from DTF?

HOW ARE SUBLIMATION AND DTF DIFFERENT?

A Sublimation printer with sublimation ink prints only 4-6 colors onto sublimation paper, depending on the model of printer: Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, Black and some models print Photo Black and Gray. Sublimation printers are incapable of printing white ink, therefore this must be taken into consideration when deciding on an image and the color or garment one will be sublimating on.  Sublimation ink is printed onto sublimation paper. With that sublimation print securely positioned on your garment, one applies medium to firm pressure at 400 degrees for 60 seconds. Sublimation paper is removed from garment and disposed of and the garment now has the image permanently transfered to the garment

DTF printers , on the other hand, are capable of printing all colors TO INCLUDE white, therefore any image can be applied to any color garment.

Both techniques use heat to transfer the design but DTF uses an adhesive to attach the design to the garment, while with sublimation, the heat-activated ink turns into a gas and that gas adheres to the polyester fibers in your garment, which results in the transfer of the image to the garment/fabric on a molecular level.

The most notable difference is in how the design is transferred to your garment.
