DTF FAQ’s

WHAT IS DTF?

Direct to film (DTF) transfers are the newest technology in screen printing. DTF (Direct to film) is a trending option for customizing t-shirts that is growing in popularity.  DTF prints are printed on high-quality transfer film using high-quality, durable inks that resist cracking, withstand laundering and provide for easy application with very impressive results. Images print in full-color graphics with gradients/ombré and other special effects and details.

  •  Direct-to-Film (DTF) transfers are full-color heat applied transfers for light and dark garments. No weeding or masking is required and DTF transfers can be applied to cotton, cotton/poly blends, and even 100% polyester.
  • One of the greatest benefits of these transfers is that they can go on all kinds of fabric (cotton, polyester, blend, leather, spandex, and flex) and any color of fabric (see information below)
  • There is a white layer of ink on the back of each transfer. This allows for the transfers to be put on various colors of clothing.
  • Each vibrant DTF graphic leaves a high-quality design on your garment that stays vibrant wash after wash. They are similar to screen print transfers but thinner, more durable and won't crack over time.
